Durwood Larry Egan, born on October 9, 1934, in Eau Claire, WI, peacefully passed away at home on March 13, 2024, in Oconomowoc, WI.

Durwood served two years in the U.S. Navy. He was a proud graduate with a bachelor’s degree from UW-Eau Claire and a master’s in social work from UW-Madison. Durwood was known for his commitment to serving others. His accomplishments included initiatives in programs for mental health, addiction treatments, and special education. He dedicated over 20 years of his career as a social worker for Milwaukee County. Durwood was also an administrator for Bellwood Mental Health Center.

Outside of work, he found joy in being an active member of the Badger State Corvette Club, pursuing woodworking, and collecting Disney Mickey and Minnie Mouse memorabilia.

Durwood is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Doris; his children Karen, John (Kari), and Jeff Greve (Marybeth); his grandchildren Nicole Jasso (Ian), Michael Egan, Leah Schleppenbach (Ben), Steve Greve (Carla), Sadye Greve, Nihzoni Greve, Branden Greve, Anthony Greve, Wyatt Greve and Charlotte Greve; and his great-grandson, Liam Jasso. Durwood is also survived by siblings, nieces and nephews.

Durwood was preceded in death by his beloved first wife, Kareen, and his step-son Rick Greve.ÌýÌý

A service to honor Durwood’s life will be held at Divine Redeemer Lutheran Church, Hartland, on Friday, April 5th, at 11 a.m., with a visitation beginning at 10 a.m.(+Hill+St+Hartland+WI+53029).

A luncheon will follow at CornerStone Pub and Eatery in Oconomowoc ().

His memory will forever be cherished by all those who knew him.
