Darlene “Cookie” Lucille Hein, age 79, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2024. Cookie was born in Okauchee, WI on February 21, 1945, to John and Christine Roller (nee Haubert).

Cookie is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, John of Oconomowoc, WI; her children Shane of Oconomowoc, WI and LeAnna (Bryan) Rowan of Tomah, WI; grandchildren Erica and Daniel (Shannan) Rowan of Tomah, WI; great-grandchildren Sakura and Jace of Tomah, WI; brother Fred Roller of Hartland, WI; sister Debbie Salem of Peoria, AZ; along with other family and friends.

Cookie was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Ronald Roller, Lillian White and John Roller; sister-in-law Jackie Roller; and brother-in-law Bill White.

In 1964, Cookie married the love of her life, and together they shared many beautiful moments and memories. They built a life together in Oconomowoc, where Cookie’s kind and caring nature touched the lives of many.

Throughout her life, she found joy in the simple pleasures of life and had a passion for Harley riding, cross stitching, cooking, and the works of Stephen King. Cookie was also a proud member of the State Fair Park Police Department, where she served diligently from June 1979 until her retirement on August 1, 2004.

The family would like to thank the staff at Lake Country Landing and Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital for the compassion and care they had given Cookie.

A visitation to honor Cookie’s life will take place on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Pagenkopf Funeral Home (NEW LOCATION: 2228 N. Silver Maple Lane, Oconomowoc, WI 53066) from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. with a service to follow. Cookie will be laid to rest following the service at LaBelle Cemetery.
