A new partnership betweenViolet Tablein Oconomowoc andBayview Breadbased in the Town of Oconomowoc, means those who dine at the downtown restaurant have an even greater assortment of sweet or savory pastry options to satiate their hunger and cravings.

Those options include cinnamon rolls, almond croissants, and chocolate croissants, plus filled tarts from Bayview Bread. That’s in addition to the in-house made scones and gluten-free scones, plus almond cookies and other baked goods.

Bayview Bread is also known for its breads (hence the name) and Violet Table carries an assortment, such as asiago sourdough, country blonde sourdough, cranberry walnut sourdough and others.

Since Violet Table, 127 E. Wisconsin Ave., opened in the summer of 2022, its homemade soups, sandwiches, salads and baked goods have only grown in popularity among diners.

Gabriel’s Taqueria & Bar now open

For months a sign has hung on the windows of the storefront at 126 N. Main St. in downtown Oconomowoc thatGabriel’s Taqueria & Barwas coming soon. That long wait is over and the restaurant is now open.

Gabriel’s also operates three food trucks in Waukesha County: two in Oconomowoc (Pabst Farms and downtown Oconomowoc) and one in Waukesha in the Woodman’s parking lot.

According to Gabriel’s website, gabrielstaqueria. com, it serves Mexican street food with all of the classics and a few with a twist.

Mill Street Café replaces River’s Edge

A new café has taken over whereRiver’s Edge Coffee & Eatsonly operated for a short time in North Lake at W315-N7735 Highway 83.Mill Street Caféwill open Monday with its full drink menu and bakery.

“If you choose to visit us during our first few weeks, please be patient and know that your order might take a little longer as we get to know all of our operations. I promise it will be worth it though. As time goes on, we will slowly be adding in our food options,” reads a Friday Facebook post.

River’s Edge permanently closed in March due to the owner’s health issues. Like River’s Edge, Mill Street will be serving Milwaukee-made Valentine Coffee and other area made food products.
