CEDARBURG — Cedarburg outfielder Ally Torbeck makes a diving catch Saturday, but it was not enough as the Bulldogs suffered a 2-0 loss in eight innings to Kenosha Bradford. On Thursday, the Bulldogs defeated Homestead, 11-1, to remain undefeated in North Shore Conference play.

MEQUON — University School of Milwaukee senior Charlie Darrow carded a 34 Wednesday at Mee-Kwon Park Golf Course to earn medalist honors by five shots and help the Wildcats take first place at a Midwest Classic Conference mini-meet.

USM finished with a team score of 158, four shots ahead of Lake Country Lutheran.

Sullivan Mellowes finished tied for third individually with a 40 and Brayden Becker shared fifth place with a 41. Joey Darrow added a 43 to round out the scoring.

Grafton ties for third place at Kelly Green Tournament

SAUKVILLE — Grafton placed third place, Cedarburg claimed ninth and Homestead finished 13th Friday at the Kelly Green Tournament at Hawthorne Hills Golf Course.

Marquette won the team title at the event hosted by Port Washington with a score of 396. Grafton and Slinger each shot a 414 to share third place, the Bulldogs carded a 446 and Homestead recorded a total of 455.

Grafton sophomore Jake Leidel led the way for the Black Hawks, finishing in a three-way tie for medalist honors with a 75. Junior Miles Jaeger added an 80 for the Black Hawks.

Colton Baxter led Cedarburg with a score of 83, while Max Piunti added an 85.

Homestead was led by Joe Thibert, who shot an 87 and Jake McGourthy added a 90 for the Highlanders.

USM baseball team extends winning streak to five games

RIVER HILLS — The University School of Milwaukee baseball team is riding a five-game winning streak after going undefeated last week.

The Wildcats swept a pair of games from Living Word Lutheran, winning 6-2 on Tuesday and 11-4 on Thursday. On Saturday, the club took a doubleheader from Brookfield Academy by scores of 10-0 and 4-1. On Wednesday, USM defeated Saint Francis by a 5-3 margin.

With the victories, USM improved to 9-3 on the season overall and 9-0 in Midwest Classic Conference play. The Wildcats will host Watertown Luther Prep today at 4:30 p.m.

Nicolet pulls away from Grafton in second half of NSC girls soccer match

GRAFTON — The Grafton girls soccer team returned to North Shore Conference play Thursday, dropping a 6-0 decision to visiting Nicolet.

The game was scoreless until the 37th minute, when Tilly Johnson netted a goal, and then the Knights scored five times after the break to earn the win.

Charlotte Gruenwald and Kayden Schmidt each scored a pair of goals for the visitors.

Grafton, 3-4-1 overall and 0-3 in league matches, returns to the pitch today, visiting the West Bend co-op at 7 p.m.

Homestead earns draw with Hartford on the pitch

MEQUON — The Homestead girls soccer team encountered a busy stretch of the schedule, playing Hartford to a scoreless draw Thursday, then dropping a pair of games in La Crosse.

Megan Decker netted the only goal of the game Friday, leading The Prairie School to a 1-0 victory over the Highlanders.

Homestead was back in action Saturday, dropping a 3-1 decision to D.C. Everest.

The Highlanders are now 0-7-2 on the season overall and 0-0-2 in conference action. Homestead looks to get into the win column today, hosting Slinger in a league match at 7 p.m.

Cedarburg wins two duals, ties another in tennis

WAUWATOSA — Cedarburg claimed a 5-2 win over Greendale, a 4-3 win over Wauwatosa West and played Sheboygan North to a 3-3 draw when the match could not be completed due to weather at the Tosa East Tournament at Hart Park.

Eli Netz won all three of his matches in the first singles position, while the doubles teams of Keenan Haws and Dawson Froemming and Carter Fast and Nick Claditis were also 3-0.
