Edgar (Ed) John Liesenberg, Jr., 87

Edgar (Ed) John Liesenberg, Jr., of Saukville, died peacefully at home on Saturday, April 13, 2024, lovingly surrounded by family. He was 87 years old.

Ed was born January 9, 1937, in Cedarburg, Wisconsin, to Edgar and Frieda (Muehleisen) Liesenberg. He graduated from Cedarburg High School in 1955, and after working for a couple of years, joined the U.S. Army in May of 1961 and served through July of 1965. Once out of the service, he joined the family business where he mastered his carpentry and woodworking craft. On April 14, 1966, Ed married Gail (Larson) Liesenberg, and in the years that followed, he built a house and grew a family, both of which were his most cherished.

Work ethic was extremely important to Ed, and he worked very hard, providing for his family and passing this trait on to his children. When he wasn't working, he found pleasure in maintaining his home and yard, growing his annual garden, hunting and fishing, and sitting outside facing the western skies while enjoying a beer or two.

Over the years, he and Gail traveled throughout the United States, including Hawaii and Alaska, to Costa Rica and the Caribbean, and around Europe. His last trip at the age of 80 was in September of 2017 where he and Gail traveled to Idaho to visit family.

Ed is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Gail, children Vickie (Dean) Knaub, David (Lorry) Liesenberg, Lori (Tom) Pintar, and Michelle (Steve) Brandt, grandchildren Taylor (John Madrigrano) Liesenberg, Michaela (Alec Holen) Liesenberg, Ellis (Jackie) Pintar, Simon Pintar, Connor Neis, Hayden Neis, Solomon Brandt, and his great-grandchildren Max, Otto, Henrik, and Nevada.Ìý He is further survived by his brother Vernon (Shirley) Liesenberg, his sister Judy (Walter) Hohner, and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Edgar's life will be on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at theÌý Landt-Thiel American Legion Post 470, 601 W Dekora St., Saukville, at 2:00 p.m.
