To the editor: Albert Einstein said that. He’s not the type of person you want to quibble with.

April 7 to 13 is National Library Week, an annual celebration of the life-changing work of libraries, librarians and library workers. The Cedarburg Public Library isn’t just a place to borrow books or study — it’s also a creative and engaging community center where people can collaborate using new technologies and develop their skills and passions.

Our library stores the energy that fuels our imaginations. It opens up windows to the world and inspires us to explore and achieve, and contribute to improving our quality of life. Libraries change lives for the better. A library is not a luxury but one of the necessities of life.

We are so very fortunate here in Cedarburg to have this incredible resource and such an amazing staff.

The Cedarburg Public Library has led our community for the past 118 years in providing services and resources to children and their families. At the library, you can meet authors, join a book club, entertain your children with the summer reading programs, learn to use technology, read magazines and books through e-readers, and enjoy crafts, music, movies and more.

If you haven’t had the pleasure — stop by this week. If you’re a regular — stop by and thank a staff member.

“The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existence.â€

Einstein also said that. It sounds like the perfect excuse to visit our library.
