GRAFTON — Aurora Health Care has announced the appointment of Carla LaFever as president of Aurora Medical Center-Grafton, effective Wednesday.

LaFever will be responsible for maintaining a strong culture of safety and teammate and physician engagement, as well as building relationships with the community.

LaFever has been with Aurora Grafton since its inception, most recently serving as vice president of operations, where she notably led hospital growth to 100% capacity and gained market share across all service lines since opening the hospital in 2010, according to an Aurora Health Care press release.

Her previous roles include serving as the director of cardiology, Greater Milwaukee North at Aurora Grafton and director of human resources at Aurora Grafton, Aurora Medical Center Washington County and Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center.

LaFever brings more than 20 years of experience in operations management in health care, focusing on exemplary acute care and ambulatory operations, strategic direction, budget preparation and implementation and change management, according to the press release.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in business and administration from the University of Wisconsin- Stevens Point and master’s degree in organizational behavior and leadership from Silver Lake College in Manitowoc. She is affiliated with the American College of Healthcare Executives.

As an active member of the community, LaFever serves on the Board of Directors for Saukville Chamber of Commerce, Ozaukee Food Alliance and Ozaukee Economic Development Committee and is a member of the Ozaukee County Chamber of Commerce Events.

Born and raised in Wisconsin, LaFever loves watching local girls fastpitch softball and is an avid football fan — both Badgers and Packers. She is a proud wife and mother of two sons and one daughter. When not working she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling and reading.
