JACKSON 鈥 Construction on Highway 60 in Jackson began on April 15, and the project is scheduled to continue until late summer, barring delays from inclement weather. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation released their most recent update about the project on Monday.

According to the official update from WisDOT, contractors have completed culvert pipe work across North Eagle Drive and have begun storm sewer and retaining wall construction on the Eagle Drive leg of the roundabout. Curb ramp removal/replacement and traffic signal work will continue on the north side of Highway 60 over the course of the next 3 weeks.

鈻 Highway 60 will be completely closed to westbound traffic in the project area for the duration of the project.

鈻 Commuters should detour north on County G, west on County NN and south on County P.

鈻 North Eagle Drive closed down on April 19.

Commuters in the area should utilize alternate access that is posted along Ridgeway Road to Georgetown Drive.

鈻 During the week of May 20, Highway 60 is scheduled to close completely at the WIS Central Railroad Crossing.

鈻 A full closure of County P to through traffic north of Sherman Drive is scheduled to begin in early June.

The announcement also added that USPS has indicated that they will not be able to deliver mail to properties on the north side of Highway 60 between the address ranges of 1990020324, 20448-21198, 21592 and 21930-21966. This means residents within those areas will need to either pick up their mail at the Jackson Post Office, W225-N16702 Cedar Park Court or establish a temporary mailbox with USPS for the duration of this project.
